With a new logo, new kit and new GM, the Penguins are going to really turn heads this season. Having moved away from the traditional yellow strip. The penguins sleek new look, has newly appointed GM Brad Starkey pumped for round 1.
BS: This could be the best kit in SL this season I reckon. Season after season you guys continue to outdo yourselves. At the very least, I know my boys will definitely look the part . I cant wait...
{SL MEDIA} Brad being your first season at the helm, what was your main focus during the draft process?
{BS} . The underlying factor for me, was to pickup where Adam Edgecomb had left off. He has done such a great job as GM for the Penguins . I really moulded my game plan around his. Draft a team of like minded people, that will go out and have a heap of fun.
{SL MEDIA} And do you feel you achieved that?
{BS} Yeah I think so. The draft is fairly full on and your list of guys you want to isn't guaranteed . So the guys I did secure, I am stoked to have on the Penguins roster.
{SL MEDIA} You seem to be fairly content with your selections. How do you feel your franchise’s will go this season? Because from all reports, both leagues are fairly stacked.
{BS} I honestly believe we have the squad to take on any of the teams in SL. We have strength across all positions on the floor, so teams will have to really want tot play defence to knock us off.
{SL MEDIA} In worst case scenario, your squads don’t achieve your desired results, the boys will be definitely looking the part, tell us a little bit about the new kit.
{BS} Mate, as I said before, this is one of the best designs I've seen. SL & TTW should really be proud of there efforts
{SL MEDIA} Let’s touch on the other Franchises for a minute, because there is some serious competition coming your way. From a list perspective, who do you think has the best? aside from your own of course?
{BS} Its got to be the Bears doesn't it? They look fairly stacked across most positions. But in saying that, after watching the Foxes scrimmage. They will be tough to beat as well.
{SL MEDIA} Who will win the MVP then?
{BS} That's a tough one, because there is so many decent players. But if I have to choose one, I reckon it'll be Ambu.
{SL MEDIA} Who will win the DPOY
{BS} This award is always interesting , but I reckon Ambu as well. He'll do a Travis Blackney
{SL MEDIA} Interesting, you reckon he is that good?
{BS} Did you not see him at the combines?
{SL MEDIA} Who will win the Steal of the Draft
{BS} My man James Armstrong. The fact that he slipped to the 4th round is ridiculous.
{SL MEDIA} If you could have one player from another team, who could it be?
{BS} Ambu. He is a beast on the court , who can play any position. He'll be very hard to stop this season.
