Long time SL player Jono Lay will take the reigns of his own franchise for the first time this season. In the driver's seat for the Harkaway Toucans, JLay hopes to chase his first Title in a SL uniform. We caught up with him to talk about the season:
(SL Media) What was your main focus coming into the draft?
(JLAY) To select the best player available to fill the positions I needed.
(SL Media) How do you think you went with that that?
(JLAY) I think everyone in my team, from first to last pick has multiple strengths that will compliment one another on the court.
(SL Media) How do you feel your franchise will go this season?
(JLAY) We are a deep squad. If we can get through the season and everyone stays healthy, I can’t see why we won’t be up there.
(SL Media) Your franchise is sporting a new look, tell us a little bit about that.
(JLAY) Couldn’t be more happy. I’ve always thought Dale and Taylor Teamwear design the best uniforms out. No exception here
(SL Media) Which franchise has the best list? (aside from your own)
(JLAY) Emerald Bears and Garfield Foxes are very impressive on paper
(SL Media) Who will win the MVP?
(JLAY) We scrimmaged against Ambu (Uliando). I think him or Spezza (Nick Spezza) will have monster seasons.
(SL Media) Who will win the DPOY
(JLAY) Paint Protector; Andrew Printannier. He will be too big for most teams under the basket.
(SL Media) Who will win the Steal of the Draft
(JLAY) A bit biased here, but Matt Lever from My Toucans will turn heads this season
(SL Media) If you could have one player from another team, who could it be?
(JLAY) Josh Drury. A true workhorse who gives his all on every possession. Great bloke too.
There you have it guys! Keep your eyes peeled for a new podcast with an update on when we might be able to kick this season off.
